Photographer David Wilkinson took the photo at the Milk nightclub in Edinburgh. Milk Tuesdays posted it on Facebook on September 19, 2018; it spread within days as users imagined what Patrick Richie might be explaining to his friend Lucia Gorman, who looked ready to leave. The pair later said they were old school friends catching up and could not remember the conversation.
